Amanda Johnston B.S., B.A.

(she/her)
  • ACE Neuroimaging Research Specialist

I grew up in Wyoming and graduated from the University of Wyoming with an education in psychology and neurosciences in 2021. I've worked previously at a soup kitchen, in autism therapy, in mental health with unhoused people, and in psychology and neuroscience research. I moved to Pittsburgh in fall of 2022 and have totally fallen in love with the area. At the PICAN Lab, I work as a Research Specialist on the ACE and MIND studies. My own research interests include the neuropsychological effects of chronic and cumulative trauma and how they differ from acute trauma. A fun fact about me: I play bassoon in the Pittsburgh Philharmonic.
