Ligia Antezana, Ph.D.

Dr. Ligia Antezana is a clinical psychologist by training. She completed her undergraduate studies at Temple University, and earned her Master of Science and Doctorate in Psychology from Virginia Tech. She completed her pre-doctoral clinical psychology internship at University of Pittsburgh/UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital, where she focused on assessment and treatment of self-injurious thoughts and behaviors. Dr. Antezana’s research broadly focuses on restricted and repetitive behaviors and cognitive and affective mechanisms in autistic people. As a Post-doctoral scholar in the REAACT Lab, Dr. Antezana is focused on understanding self-injurious behavior, including nonsuicidal self-injury. She is excited to contribute and work with the ACE team to identify mechanisms and predictors of nonsuicidal self-injury in autistic adults. She enjoys thrifting, coffeeshops, and spending time with her fiancé, goldendoodle, and green iguana!
