Neil Patrick Jones, Ph.D.

Neil P. Jones received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Duke University. Following his postdoctoral training at the University of Pittsburgh in cognitive affective neuroscience, he was appointed to the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry with a secondary appointed in the Department of Psychology. Dr. Jones’s research focuses on identifying neural mechanisms underlying psychopathological disorders. This work investigates how self-referential, cognitive, motivational, and emotional systems in the brain give rise to various mental health conditions (e.g., depression spectrum, anxiety, attentional deficit hyperactivity disorder) and contributing cognitive-behavioral processes (e.g., rumination, anhedonia). Dr. Jones consults on the collection of ambulatory peripheral psychophysiology used to assess stress in the real-world.
