Yukari Takarae, Ph.D.

Yukari Takarae is an Assistant Research Scientist in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and M.I.N.D. Institute at the University of California, Davis. She received a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Kent State University. She has published on sensory and cognitive characteristics of autism and other genetic syndromes, such as fragile X and chromosome 22q deletion syndrome. Her research has combined multiple methodologies, including MRI, EEG, eye tracking, psychophysics, reaction time analyses, and cognitive training. Her current research includes studies of higher-order cognition, such as cognitive control, emotion regulation, and mental health issues in autism. Dr. Takarae is a co-investigator for Project III (Neuroimaging) of the ACE grant. She will contribute to the design, implementation, and data analysis as well as interpretations of the data and manuscript preparation.
