Predicting Recurrence in Self-injury with MRI: An Autistic Adult Study

This study aims to understand brain activity and behavior when making decisions as it relates to nonsuicidal self-injury in autistic adults. We also want to understand the course of nonsuicidal self-injury, and what things relate to more frequent and long-lasting nonsuicidal self-injury in autistic adults.

Participants will answer questions about their thoughts, feelings, and experiences and complete a brain scan (fMRI).

We want to talk to adults ages 18-45 who:

  • Are autistic or think they may be autistic
  • May or may not have history of nonsuicidal self-injury

Participants must be willing and able to complete ALL parts of the study.

Final eligibility is determined by research staff after the first visit to the research offices.

Participants must come in for initial visits and brain scan/ Follow-up visits can be done virtually.
