I am an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh and a licensed clinical psychologist. My research focuses on understanding the cognitive, behavioral, and neural processes involved in suicidal thoughts and behavior, particularly decision-making and reward-related processes. I combine clinical characterization, behavioral experiments, computational modeling, EEG, and intensive daily-life assessments to investigate why suicide risk varies across people and over time. My collaborations with REAACT extend this work to understanding suicidal thoughts, behavior, and self-injury in autistic adults.
